You can transfer money between your HSBC Direct Online CD and other accounts during the grace period.

Can I withdraw money from my HSBC Direct Online CD?

Not until maturity. If you do withdraw any principal prior to maturity there is a penalty equal to 30 days simple interest.

Can I add money to my HSBC Direct Online CD after it has been opened?

Once your account has been opened, you cannot add money to your HSBC Direct Online CD until the grace period, during which you can make additional deposits.

Am I notified when my HSBC Direct Online CD is maturing?

You will be notified by HSBC Direct approximately 10 calendar days in advance of the maturity date of your HSBC Direct Online CD.

Does my HSBC Direct Online CD automatically renew at maturity?

Your HSBC Direct Online CD will automatically renew to an HSBC Direct Online CD of same term at the then current interest rate and APY at the time of maturity. Your options include transferring your HSBC Direct Online CD balance to an exisiting HSBC Direct account or opening a new one.

Can I add money to my HSBC Direct Online CD account after maturity prior to rolling over to a new HSBC Direct Online CD?

Yes. Within the grace period you can add money to your HSBC Direct Online CD.

What if I need to close my account before maturity?

You can call the Customer Relationship Center at 1-888-404-4050. There will be a penalty fee for early withdrawal.

Can I add beneficiaries to my HSBC Direct Online CD Account?

You can add only one beneficiary to your HSBC Direct Online CD by sending the beneficiary's name via a BankMail to the Customer Relationship Center.
