How do I know my account is secure?

All of our banking systems are protected with the latest available technology. When you log on to your account, you'll be asked for your customer username, password and security key. Only you can access your HSBC Direct accounts, make transfers to your linked accounts or perform other related banking requests.

Learn more about security by visiting the security link at the bottom of this page.

Is my money FDIC-insured?

Your deposits are insured to the maximum permitted by law. In fact, you should never open an online deposit account if the institution isn’t insured to protect your funds. And don’t forget, we’re part of HSBC, the second-largest financial institution and one of the oldest banks in the world. For more information about FDIC insurance, visit www.fdic.gov.

How does HSBC protect my privacy?

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We never sell your personal information to other companies for their independent marketing purposes. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information, and to protect you against the criminal misuse of that information. All HSBC employees are required to keep your personal information confidential.
