Before we can open and fund your new account, we need to verify the ownership of the account you are using for funding. To do that, we make two small deposits into that account. These deposits are usually for less than $1 each.

Step 1:
Once those deposits are made, log into your funding account (or call your financial institution) to get the exact amount of each. Be sure to write the amounts down for reference. The description for each deposit will say HSBC_ACCT_VERIFY.

Step 2:
The last step is to confirm these amounts in your saved application. Log on to verify your trial deposits and select "I would like to sign in to an existing application that either I or my co-applicant has already started."

Step 3:
If the amounts you enter match the deposit amounts made, account ownership is verified and your new HSBC Direct account will be funded. If the amounts entered do not match, you'll need to send a check to fund your new account.
